The University of Aveiro, with the support of the projects ILLIANCE and NEXUS, and the Portuguese Mathematical Society (SPM), is pleased to organize DII26, to be held from 3–7 June 2026 in Aveiro, Portugal. We warmly invite you to participate!
As industries evolve amidst rapid digital transformation, the convergence of theoretical rigor, artificial intelligence, and human-centered design is unlocking new frontiers in productivity, resilience, and innovation. The conference DII26 serves as a dynamic platform for researchers, practitioners, and technologists to explore the latest advancements in industrial systems and their socio-technical impact, implemented through data-driven approaches. We mainly consider three Industrial sectors:
- Primary Sector: This sector involves extracting and harvesting raw materials from the natural environment. Examples include agriculture, fishing, mining, and forestry.
- Secondary Sector: This sector focuses on manufacturing and construction, using raw materials from the primary sector to create finished goods. Examples include factories, construction sites, and refineries.
- Tertiary Sector: This sector provides services to support the production and distribution of goods, as well as to consumers. Examples include retail, logistics and transportation, and healthcare.
The conference brings together a multidisciplinary community to present and discuss cutting-edge developments across some topics:

Submission Guidelines
Submissions (two types):
- Abstract (presentation-only);
- Short paper (presentation + proceedings publication).
Registrations should be made AFTER submission approvals (since you need to add your Abstract ID).
